Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with FINNEGANS
It’s St. Patrick’s Day, so we’re taking the opportunity to check in with our Irish neighbors and members of the “KA Block,” FINNEGANS Brew Co.
CEO Jacquie Berglund tells us more about the brewery’s Irish roots, its mission, and the St. Patrick’s Day Weekend festivities.
What does FINNEGANS’ Irish heritage mean to you? How does it play a role in the overall FINNEGANS mission?
I am part Irish, and all of my life, my dearest friends have largely been of Irish heritage. In the several times I’ve visited Ireland, I have always felt like “these are my people.” In my opinion, the Irish are so generous in spirit, laughter, hospitality, and giving. We incorporated all of those qualities into our brand and mission. FINNEGANS is a fun, social, and generous brand that has a mission of turning beer into food, making over $2 million in community impact over the last 23 years. We partner with a Food Bank in every state where we sell our product (WI, IA, ND, SD). In Minnesota, we partner with The Food Group and are the sole funder of their “Food For Every Table” program, which pays $1 per pound to purchase fresh produce from local growers. The produce is then delivered to local food shelves by beer distribution markets, making our program hyper-local giving.
FINNEGANS has many fun events planned for St. Patrick’s Day Weekend 2023. What should people expect?
We have a jam-packed (and fun!) weekend planned, filled with Irish music, Bag Pipers, Irish dancers, and Irish Food all weekend long. Click HERE (or see below) to view the list of activities for the entire weekend!
The Irish are known for their sense of humor and welcoming nature. How does FINNEGANS embody those qualities?
We are known as a very friendly bunch at FINNEGANS. Our mission in the taproom and with events is to make sure we provide a fantastic experience for the guest and ensure that they want to come back again. Our business reviews reflect that we are accomplishing this experience for our visitors. When people leave FINNEGANS at the end of the night, we want them to walk away feeling happy and smiling after wonderful service and a great time with friends/family.
Tell us about your beer selection. Which beer on tap is your current favorite?
This is a hard one for me! We have so many delicious beers here in the taproom. We recently put the Dead Irish Caribou Coffee Stout back on tap. I’m a gal who never used to touch a stout, but this brew converted me. The Rock of Cashel — a wonderful imperial ale — is also back on tap. Both of those beers are my go-to at the moment. Our Flagship Irish Ale is always near the top of my list. I can’t pick just one!
What’s your favorite part about St. Patrick’s Day?
I love St. Patrick’s Day because it seems like everyone we cross paths with on that day/weekend is happy and out to have a bit of fun. We all need a bit more of that these days. I love the joy and smiles that are packed into this day, from the folks out having a good time to the musicians and dancer sharing their talents. Also! I am a big fan of corned beef. There are so many things to love about St. Patrick’s Day!
Conclusion
Dedicated to making a social impact and bringing people together for good causes, the four-story business houses the “Finnovation” Lab, where social entrepreneurs go to work, Mosaic Event Venue, VIP Brewers Den, and the brewery’s taproom and patio.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day from everyone at Kraus-Anderson. Have fun, and stay safe!
