Omni Viking Lakes Hotel wins MCA Award of Excellence
The Omni Viking Lakes Hotel won a Minnesota Construction Association (MCA) Award of Excellence in the Over $15 Million category. The Awards of Excellence honor outstanding recently completed construction projects across the state.
Kraus-Anderson was the construction manager of the 381,163-square-foot, $98 million hotel, the mainstay of the Viking Lakes mixed-use development project that includes the Twin Cities Orthopedic Performance Center for the Minnesota Vikings, which KA completed in 2018. Designed by ESG Architects, the hotel pulls from Nordic traditions and local flavor, including hand-carved wooden pillars as a focal point in the lobby.
The 14-story, 320-key Omni Viking Lakes Hotel features 35,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom, pre-event and meeting spaces. A variety of configurations allow for gatherings of all sizes, from business meetings to large-scale receptions in the future.
Amenities include a full-service spa with a dry sauna and outdoor saltwater jacuzzi, fitness center, underground parking, three dining options, and a bar terrace with access to the Viking Lakes mixed-use development. A two-story hospitality suite features a full kitchen, living room area, fireplace with television, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the rest of the development.
The Omni Viking Lakes Hotel opened on October 1, 2020, with stringent COVID-19 protocols in place.View Comments
