Kraus-Anderson begins 593-seat performing arts auditorium for St. Croix Falls High School
April 9, 2021
Construction company worked closely with district to pass successful referendum in 2020
CROIX FALLS, Wis. (April 2021) — Kraus-Anderson Construction (KA) has begun to build a new 593-seat music and performing arts auditorium at St. Croix Falls High School located at 740 Maple St. in St. Croix Falls, Wis. The $13.5 million auditorium is expected to be completed in late summer of 2022.
The new St. Croix Falls High School auditorium’s primary goal is to provide space for educational purposes and will co-exist with the new Civic Auditorium soon to be developed in the City of St. Croix Falls.
In 2020, voters approved a $14 million district bond referendum project, which also features an improved $1.8 million, 6,050-square-foot fitness area that will provide space for class participation to occur in one location as well as increased resources and availability to athletic and fitness programs for extracurricular training. The project also includes a $525,000, 3,500-square-foot bus garage and wash bay addition to house and protect buses, district vehicles and maintenance equipment.
Designed by DSGW, the new 21,860-square-foot auditorium will accommodate continued growth of the music program and performing arts, including theatrical productions, musicals and concerts, and will also serve as a large group learning space, which frees up existing space to allow for additional educational programming. The 593-seat auditorium is modeled after the auditorium KA built in 2017 for Unity School District in Balsam Lake, Wis.
KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 12th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. Over the past five years, KA has completed over $1 billion in K-12 projects. KA’s comprehensive school construction services include facility analysis and budget approaches, leading to informed and successful referendum initiatives.
