Kraus-Anderson completes construction of North Park Elementary

FRIDLEY, Minn. (August 2020) – Kraus-Anderson (KA) has completed construction of North Park Elementary, part of Columbia Heights Public Schools, located at 5575 Fillmore St. NE in Fridley, Minn.
Designed by Cuningham Group Architecture, the $11.4 million project included a 12,500-square-foot addition featuring new classrooms and new administrative spaces for a single point of enhanced entry for all visitors. The 30,000-square-foot renovation of the cafeteria and classrooms improves hands-on learning spaces for science and arts. A new playground, parking and bus drop-off were also added.
North Park Elementary is among dozens of many K-12 construction projects Kraus-Anderson will work on this year during its “Summer Sprint,” a critical, concentrated time during the summer months when school is not in session and when crews can perform work that ranges from new school construction to upgrades to deferred maintenance projects.
KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 8th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. Over the past five years, KA has completed over $1 billion in K-12 projects.
