Steel columns are raised on Huron Regional Medical Center’s $9 million renovation and expansion

June 17, 2021

HURON, S.D. (June 2021) – Huron Regional Medical Center has celebrated the construction milestone of the vertical raising of the expansion project’s first structural steel column. Located at 534 Oregon Avenue SE in Huron, S.D., the medical center’s $9 million renovation will double the size of the clinic, allowing for additional space to serve more patients and house up to 20 physicians.

Designed by Wold Architects, the 23,500-square-foot expansion of the HRMC Physicians Clinic will transform the single-story structure to a two-level clinic.  The Emergency and Imaging Department renovation will add new infusion bays, treatment rooms and advanced hospital imaging, including MRI and 3D Mammography scanners.

Kraus-Anderson is the construction manager. The project is expected to be completed in late spring of 2022.
