Kraus-Anderson earns Safety Award for construction of Omni Viking Lakes Hotel
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (October 2020) – Kraus-Anderson (KA) has received a 2020 Chase Construction Health and Safety Excellence award from the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota (AGC) for the construction of the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel in Eagan, Minn.
Designed by ESG Architects, the 381,163-square-foot hotel is the mainstay of the Viking Lakes mixed-use development project that includes the Twin Cities Orthopedic Performance Center for the Minnesota Vikings, which KA built in 2018.
Completed last month, the new 14-story, 320-key Omni Viking Lakes Hotel features 35,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom, pre-event and meeting spaces. Amenities include a full-service spa, fitness center, underground parking, three dining options and a bar terrace with access to the Viking Lake mixed-use development.
The AGC of Minnesota is a centralized point of focus for information dissemination, labor relations, education and training, and for advocacy on important industry-related issues. The diverse and collective knowledge of AGC impacts the building and highway construction industries throughout the state. The Construction Health and Safety Excellence (CHASE) program began in 2003 as a partnership between Minnesota OSHA and AGC of Minnesota. The program is designed to recognize AGC member contractors for their safety programs and performance, while providing incentives for partnership.
