Monarch Health opens first-of-its-kind addiction recovery clinic in Madison
MADISON, Wis. (September 2020) –Kraus-Anderson Construction has completed the renovation of Monarch Health Addiction Recovery Clinic in Madison, Wis. Monarch is the first-of-its-kind addiction recovery center in the greater Madison area. The center is now open.
Designed by GMK Architecture, the project renovated an existing 5,500-square-foot building located at 521 East Washington Avenue into a physician-run therapy center that provides patient-centered treatment for opioid and alcohol addiction.
The center was created by Dr. Michael Repplinger and Dr. Howard Croft, who both specialize in emergency medicine and noticed gaps in the current system for patients suffering from addiction. The doctors were frustrated with the cycle of patients suffering withdrawal or who overdose with no follow-up or long-term care plan.
“Our goal is to minimize existing gaps in services and remove barriers to accessing treatment for adults struggling with addition. We are a safe, nonjudgmental place where people can get individualized treatment and confidential care,” said Dr. Repplinger, Monarch’s founder and CEO. “By providing medical services, behavioral health treatment, physician-dispensed pharmacy care and case management under one roof, we hope to become the standard to which other clinics aspire.”
The clinic will serve as a treatment hub or “one stop shop” for addiction treatment that will fill the gaps for patients receiving care. The two-story clinic has a phlebotomy lab for diagnostic testing, dispenses medicine and provides pharmacy services and case management on site. Monarch’s medical and mental health professionals are certified in substance abuse counseling. The clinic does not use methadone in its therapy.
